Teacher-Floater/Substitutes

I am Miss Jenn and am known as the ‘floater’ at Children Central, which means you may find me everywhere and anywhere. I help open the school at 6:30AM, and then I could be found either in a classroom, driving the school van, behind a desk, or even answering your phone call. I have worked with children of all ages for over 20 years. I earned a B.S.E. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Arkansas. I was the assistant director of a child care center for four years where I helped out in all the classrooms, drove a large school bus, planned fun events for the center, and talked to the parents and children every day. I will enjoy doing these same activities here at Children Central.

I have taught high school English and math; and coached the high school cheerleader team. I was also a nanny for five years for two wonderful children. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. My husband and I were next door neighbors and high school sweethearts. We may be the only Dallas Cowboy fans in Pennsylvania. We moved to Pennsylvania in 2008 with our two sons, Robert and Joseph, and our boxer Shiner. We live in Newtown, Pa in a 200 year old house that we just love. I love reading books, running, and watching sports. I completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 2010 and I am training for my next one.

I have been working at Children Central since the summer of 2010 as a substitute teacher and I am very happy that I have become a part-time Children Central family member.  I love working with the children and getting to know their families too. The staff at Children Central is wonderful and always makes me feel like I belong. My two grandchildren previously attended Children Central and received a great education.

I was born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Levittown, Pa and graduated from Neshaminy High. I have many good memories of going to the Jersey Shore, which is one of my passions. I married my Jersey shore sweetheart Gary, whom I met in Wildwood, NJ and we raised three wonderful children.

We lived in Levittown for a bit and out in Colorado for three years.  Then we settled in Langhorne Borough in a 120 year old twin Victorian twin, where we raised our children for 20 years. We have a lot of good memories raising our children that will last a lifetime. We continued taking our children to the Jersey Shore as my parents did for us growing up.  But as our children grew up and started moving out, we decided to downsize and moved to a lovely little cape cod in Newportville, Pa., right outside of Hulmeville Borough. We’ve lived there the past three years.

We also have a place at the shore in Seaville, NJ near Sea Isle City where we spend lots of family time every summer.  Love the Beach and the boardwalk and going boating, fishing, and crabbing, campfires at night and long walks on the beach. I love spending lots of time with my family and good friends.  My family is very important to me and they are who I am today.

Aside from the shore, I enjoy going to flea markets and shopping for antiques, which is a hobby of mine.
