Lisa E.
I am known as Lisa E at Children Central. I am very excited to be a Pre-K teacher. I have worked with young children in a variety of educational settings for the past 10 years. I am PA certified to teach K-6 elementary education and have PA certification to teach Nursery and Kindergarten in private PA schools.
In my Pre-K class it is my goal to encourage, challenge and inspire the students to reach their fullest potential. Some of the goals I have for my students are:
- to respect themselves as well as others
- to foster independence as well as cooperation
- to communicate effectively through writing, speaking, and artistic expression to be effective receivers of communication through reading, listening and appreciating artistic expressions
- to think creatively like scientists by developing hypotheses, tests and conclusions
- to utilize their bodies in ways that will improve coordination, and in ways that promote good health
I also believe in motivating students by modeling enthusiasm of what we are learning and through lots of positive reinforcement.
A little bit about me, is that I met my husband while attending college in the area. After we each graduated we married and we now have two young children - both of which attend Children Central. I enjoy mountain biking, reading and cooking healthy meals for my family. I also enjoy speaking the Spanish language and will be sharing a part of my knowledge with all of the Pre-K students here at Children Central.
Lisa U.
My name is Miss Lisa and I have been a teacher at Children Central since August 2000. I am a Pre-K teacher. I have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education along with 19 years of experience.
I began at Children Central in the preschool program and moved on to the pre-kindergarten (ages 4-5) program, as I enjoy getting my children prepared and ready for Kindergarten. I am dedicated to teaching my students as much as I can until they leave my side and move on to bigger things. However, I do try to make learning fun for them by planning many theme related activities for them on a daily basis. When I see the changes that the children make from the day they walk into my room until the day they walk out, then I know that I have done my job. It brings me great joy to see them grow in more ways than one.
I am married to a wonderful man and we have two children that have attended Children Central since they were babies. I enjoy spending time with my family and making jewelry in my spare time.
I hope to be at Children Central for many more years to come so that I can touch the lives of the children of our future.
