Teacher-Preschool
Barbara
My name is Miss Barbara and I have been at Children Central since 2001. Prior to that, I worked for the Pennsbury School District in their after-school program. At Children Central I have worked in all the classrooms as both a substitute and after- school program art teacher. Presently, I teach the Preschool (age 4) program. I enjoy this age, as I love their originality and imagination. In the past ten years, I learned that I truly enjoy teaching.
I have a degree in Applied Science from the fashion institute of technology. I worked for 14 years in Manhattan in the home decorations industry as a textile designer. My passion is art, which is very useful in early education, since art is a great tool for children to express themselves artistically and academically.
I have my CDA, which is a Child Development Associates credential. I am currently working on my Elementary Education degree. On a personal note, I have been married eleven years and have two great children. I have a daughter in college and a son in third grade. My son attended Children Central for his early education. I was happy with the care and academic skill he developed. I am proud to be a part of the Children Central family and love inspiring the children of our future.
Melissa M.
My name is Miss Melissa and I am one of the Preschool (ages 3-4) teachers here at Children Central. I have been a teacher at Children Central since September 2009, as I started in the Twaddler classroom (ages 2-3). I “graduated” together with my class to become a Preschool teacher. I truly enjoying teaching the children and preparing them for Pre-K and for their future educational success.
I began to pursue a career teaching young children when I first took a child development class in 1996. Throughout the years of teaching, I have worked with children from age 6 weeks to 12 years. I even worked my way to Director’s Assistant, but soon realized my passion was working hands-on in the classroom with the children. Working at Children Central has given me the extra drive to pursue my CDA (Child Development Associates) credential to further advance my years of training and experience, which I expect to receive in September 2010.
In addition to my experience in child care, I am a mother of a terrific boy who is 4 years old. Once my son was born, life has been filled with so much joy. Working with young children has also helped me grow and learn as a parent as well. My son currently attends the preschool program here. I am overjoyed with the excellent child care that Children Central provides for my son. Children Central is a fun, family oriented school with high learning standards. It enables me to continue my career providing education and a nurturing environment for young children.
Stephanie B.
I am Miss Stephanie and I started working at Children Central in May 2010. I work in the Preschool room with the four year olds. Before coming to Children Central, I worked as a wraparound teacher with Access Services for over five years. They provide services to children with all types of special needs, helping to integrate them into the mainstream classroom environment. I believe that my training and experience with the special needs population will help me to teach my students to embrace differences and appreciate diversity and uniqueness in each other.
I am currently enrolled in school and expect to complete the Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education by October 2011. I enjoy working with children of all ages and love watching them grow and succeed in school.
I have been married for two years to Bryan. When I am not teaching, I enjoy scrap booking and playing with my 2-year old niece.
