Teacher-Toddlers
Amanda
My name is Miss Amanda and I am a teacher in the toddler room. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education field as a toddler teacher since 2008. It was as a middle school student that I discovered my love of working with young children, when I began working summers at a preschool day camp. I began my career journey while still in high school when I had the opportunity to attend a vocational technical school as part of the Early Childhood Education course work. In December 2008 I received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Delaware County Community College. I am very happy to have joined Children Central in March of 2011.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading books, playing games, going to the movies, photography, music, and shopping! I also have a love for animals. I have a dog named Frank and a turtle named Swashbuckle and I love to spend time with them as well!
Jolie
I am known as Miss Jolie and I have been working in the child care industry for over twenty years. My love and passion for children, especially infants and toddlers, has made me into the well rounded teacher that I am today. Children Central has provided me with an environment where I can nurture and continue to grow professionally and provide the love that is essential for the children which are in my care. I have worked at four different learning centers for children and I started at Children Central in 2009, where I work with the young toddlers (12-23 months). Working at Children Central gave me the initiative to pursue my CDA (Child Development Associates) credential, which I obtained in February 2011.
In addition to my professional profile, personally, I am a mother of two wonderful children, Derek who is 16 and Megan who is 12, as well as a wife to my husband Dave, to whom I have been married to for eighteen years. I love spending time with my family and friends for they are the daily love and support in my life. Moreover, my family and I love to travel. We enjoy quality family time together. Camping and spending a day at the beach is what we enjoy most. Some favorite past times of mine are reading, jig saw puzzles and shopping.
Overall, I hope to gain many positive and fulfilling experiences here at Children Central for it is a family owned business with excellent standards as well as an experienced staff. The relationships I will build here will last a life time.
Molly
My name is Miss Molly and I am a teacher in the toddler room at Children Central. I am so thrilled to be a part of the staff here and look forward to getting to know you and your family. I previously was an infant teacher at Goddard Newtown where I gained good experience not only in the infant room, but also as a floater in the various classrooms, including the toddler room. Working in the field of early childhood education has been both a rewarding and exciting experience for me. I love getting to see each child grow and develop as they learn new things each and every day. The changes you see as they get older are amazing, and it feels great to be a part of shaping their future.
In 2010 I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in the field of Human Development and Family Studies. This education has prepared me for a career helping young children to meet their educational and developmental goals. I have always desired to work with young children and have spent a lot of time babysitting through the years. In my spare time. I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with friends and family members. I also love Philadelphia and spend a lot of time in the city.
I am delighted to be able to join the team here at Children Central, and look forward to working with your child(ren).
Rosellen
Hi, my name is Miss Rosellen and I joined Children Central in July 2011 as a Toddler teacher. I have been working with children since I was fourteen years old at the same place that was my day care provider while I was growing up. I started working with children during the summer months, mainly with ages six to thirteen years old, and eventually made it “to the other side,” which referred to the area where I began to work with children ages six weeks to five years old. I truly enjoy working with children and cannot imagine myself working in any other field besides education. I feel that education is a life-long process that is built upon each day. I love seeing the toddlers faces light up when they make a new discovery from simple things such as singing songs to complex things such as creating their own art projects to develop their skills. Who knows we could have a young “American Idol” contestant or an aspiring Picasso in our midst!!!
I graduated from Temple University in May 2011. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary/Special Education and currently am pursuing a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification to achieve my ultimate goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. I plan on going back to school to pursue a Master’s Degree, even though I am undecided about which field. I am considering either something in the Education or the Psychology field. Aside from my educational background, there are some things I like to do in my personal life. I mainly enjoy being with my family. We do everything together, especially travelling. We have a shore house in a little town known as, “The Villas,” which is seven miles away from both Wildwood and Cape May. During the summer we go down to the shore almost every weekend. We also travel to Disney World at least once a year. I would live at Disney World if I could, because Disney World is like my third home. I also enjoy spending time with friends where we simply get together and “catch-up.”
I am truly happy and pleased to be a part of Children Central where I can continue to grow as an educator molding the young minds of children and helping them develop their skills which they will carry with them throughout their lives.
